JORDAN VALLEY AUTHORITY SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH U.S COMPANY RAINMAKER TO ENHANCE PRECIPITATION IN THE NORTH OF JORDAN

In the presence of H.E. Eng. Raed Abu Soud, Minister of Water and Irrigation, and U.S. Ambassador to Jordan Jim Holtsnider, the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with U.S.-based Rainmaker Technology Corporation to enhance precipitation in targeted areas of northern Jordan، attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan.
The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation headquarters in Amman by JVA Secretary General Eng. Hisham Al-Hisa and Rainmaker Technology Corporation Chief Executive Officer Augustus Doricko.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Raed Abu Soud said: "Securing Jordan’s long-term water future requires innovative, science-based solutions. Working with leading U.S. technology companies to enhance rainfall over the Al-Wehdah and Kufranja catchments is an important step toward increasing water availability for drinking, agriculture, and other essential uses, improving dam storage, and strengthening Jordan’s national water security.”
JVA Secretary General Eng. Hisham Al-Hisa said: "This agreement will help enhance water inflows into Jordan’s northern reservoirs through advanced rain-enhancement technology, supporting water availability for communities and agriculture.”
Rainmaker CEO Augustus Doricko said: "Rainmaker is proud to expand our partnership with Jordan, our first international partner, bringing advanced U.S.-developed technology to support the country’s water security while building local expertise through the training and employment of Jordanian operators.”
The agreement builds on the growing U.S.-Jordan partnership in applying innovative technologies to address water challenges and will support the application of U.S. expertise and technology while strengthening local technical capacity in Jordan.
